How to stand out in an online job application?
So, I'm trying to get a job in an outdoors store, they sell all kinds of hiking, camping, fishing, hunting, etc things. The job I really wanted to get was in the archery range, I go to their range to shoot every day I'm not working, so about 3 times a week since they opened the range in early November. People in that area of the store know me well, and when a job opened up I decided to apply. My problem is that the only way you can apply is online, and I just cannot seem to get a job there, even in other store areas. I'm super qualified for the archery range position, even though I'm only 18 years old, I've been shooting for about 8 or 9 years. And what things I don't know, I want to learn. This wouldn't be just another job, this is my passion, it's what I do for the rest of my life. This job is my dream job. But, they filled the archery position, and I didn't even get an interview. So now I'm trying to apply for other positions in the store in hopes that eventually I can transfer to archery when a position opens up. But I'm having no luck. The frustrating thing is that if I applied in person, people working there would recognize who I am and I feel I would have a much better chance of getting the job. But it's all online, and they have several job openings, but I just can't get an interview. It's not this is my first job either, I have job experience. They say they keep your application for 90 days, and I've applied twice since March. Could anyone please give me some advice on how to stand out in an online application? Working in an archery pro shop like theirs is my dream job, archery is my life and my passion, it wouldn't be just another "job" for me. I just don't know how to convey that online. Here's a link to the application if it helps any: a href="http://www.jaxmercantile.com/custom/applications/form.php" rel="nofollow"http://www.jaxmercantile.com/custom/appl…/a Thank you!
