Nfl 2k5 question?????

i have madden 10 and i am planning on buying madden 12. But i watched 2k5 and it is WAY better than any madden. Now i have a ps3, and you can play ps2 games on it. So if i buy 2k5, can i update the rosters. Because i heard you can download an update online and then just put it on the system and the game will update the rosters. So can i update the rosters on ps3?????????????????
