Would an archery shop charge for this?

They need to be a certain size. Wrong spine of an arrow can damage the bow or your face when it blows. They won't charge to see if its safe to shoot. Bows are well built if it was new 6 yrs ago I bet its fine. You will find archery shops generally like to help people because they are smaller and want to earn your business.
