My cousin gave me a bow?

I think it's a PSE. What I'm more concerned with is how do you adjust the draw weight on a bow? do I go to a shop and just measure my draw length and get those arrows? I'be been rifle hunting since I was 13, but want to get into archery this fall. Any help would be great. Thanks!
